06 Dec Nelson Mandela (July 18, 1918-December 5, 2013)
I, like millions around the world, am saddened by the news of Nelson Mandela’s passing, but I will forever be empowered by his courage and compassion.
He was the change he wanted to see in the world, and in living his passion and pursuing freedom for all, he changed a nation and inspired the world.
As President Obama said, “He belongs to the ages”.
There are no words I can speak or write to fully sum up and reflect on the life and legacy of the former South African President affectionately called Madiba, so I compiled a list of my favorite Mandela quotes.
I hope you are as inspired by his words as I am.
“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
“We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.”
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
What impact has Nelson Mandela had on your life?
